It comes nestled in tissue paper in this cute little box, a living sign of your love. And if you cannot make it into our store, order it online and we will ship it.

There’s a particular beauty to flowers and plants grown locally and blooming in season. This natural harvest of ephemeral beauty stirs the soul. A Dozen Roses?
So, you’re a traditionalist, eh? Just can’t convince yourself to part with the traditional dozen roses for Valentine’s day? Here’s a fresh take: a dozen succulent rosettes of Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’, gathered up with white peacock feathers. These will last for weeks or even months in a vase, and when they begin to wither, can be happily transplanted into the garden. Order online and you can pick them up or we will deliver these too.

Whoa. Now That’s an Amazing Way to Say “I Love You.”

Events 2010 – Lots of ‘Em!
You all loved our events so much in 2009 that we will be hosting more than twice as many in 2010. We’ve been getting them up on our online calendar just as fast as we can get them scheduled, so check back often for new additions. Mostly we will be sticking with Sundays at 10:30am, but we have some evening and Saturday events in the works, too. We are adding a series of events for kids, sponsored by Little Lane Studios.
Citrus Tasting
Sunday, February 21, 2010 10:30am
Join us for a citrus tasting with Aaron Dillon, a fourth-generation fruit-tree grower who will share heirloom varieties and new introductions. Aaron's great-grandfather, Floyd Dillon, founded Four Winds Growers as a source for new dwarf citrus trees that could fit easily into residential gardens and add homegrown beauty and flavor to California living.
We hope Aaron's offerings will inspire food and drink recipes – and beautiful garden plantings!
Citrus Printing for Kids
Sunday, February 21, 2010 10:30am
While the adults learn how to grow tangerines, lemons and the like at our Citrus Tasting, Julie Benjamin of Little Lane Studio will be teaching kids here at the nursery how to make prints with citrus fruits and washable pigments. A $3 charge covers the cost of materials.
Golden Gate Gardening with Pam Peirce
Sunday, February 28, 2010 1:00pm
Come learn about Bay Area vegetable gardening from a local expert. 20 years ago, Pam Peirce published what would become the bible of Northern California home food growing, Golden Gate Gardening. Now she's updated this indispensable guide and will be talking about everything from the basics of where to plant your tomatoes to which heritage veggie varieties work best in your neighborhood and how to use new research on healthy soils. Join us and find out why Michael Pollan says, "If you buy one gardening book, this is the one."
We hope Aaron's offerings will inspire food and drink recipes – and beautiful garden plantings!
Big February Sale
Our big February sale starts Feb 15th! Yes, we will have Fermob furniture on sale, and plants and pottery, too.
